Edwardsburg Administrative Center
Edwardsburg Public Schools
Edwardsburg, Michigan
Among the many attributes of this facility, the Board of Education / Professional Development Room is perhaps the most unique, designed to accommodate all School Board functions as well as continuing education for the entire teaching staff. Two ceiling mounted projectors coupled with power operated screens offer state-of-the art presentation capabilities. In the near future this center will expand the district’s educational boundaries through distant learning programs.
New Field House
Fremont Community Schools
Fremont, Indiana
A failing 5,000 SF existing Locker Room facility and the need for an Auxiliary Gymnasium was the inspiration for this Field House. The new “ L” shaped structure forms the extreme northeast corner of the Football Stadium. A covered walkway provides a signature access from the Parking Lot to the Stadium. Depending on the sports season, Ticket Windows, Concessions and three Locker Rooms facilitate both field and court events.
Middle School Classroom Addition
Three Rivers Community Schools
Three Rivers, Michigan
Three Rivers Middle School was originally designed in the 1970s as an open classroom concept with inadequate separation and sound control between the classrooms. Many of the school’s constituents were dissatisfied with the educational results of this facility and therefore wished to renovate each learning pod into individual conventional classrooms to create and environment more conducive to learning. Perhaps the most impressive accomplishment during this project was that the construction was complete and ready for occupancy within 10-1/2 weeks.
New Animal Hospital
Lake Area Veterinary Group
Sturgis, Michigan
A husband and wife team of veterinarians were the impetus for this comprehensive animal hospital. Specializing in both small and large animals, the design was required to accommodate everything; birds, cats, dogs and even horses. The story and a half Lobby / Reception area is the building’s signature providing separate waiting areas for feathered and furry friends alike. Five exam rooms, treatment / surgery rooms and a kennel provide emergency, as well as, boarding services for many clients’ pets.
New Private Country Club
South Bend Country Club
South Bend, Indiana
This full 2-story / partial 3-story structure was strategically designed with the site in mind. Positioned on a sloped approach between the 18th green and the 10th tee box, balconies and patios were created to allow spectators to view their favorite golf swing. The Country Club facility signature is a round 3-story turret placed at the intersection of course geometry with high windows acting as a beacon for visitors attending evening events.
Multi-Story Addition/Renovation
South Bend Medical Foundation
South Bend, Indiana
This health care project proposed many design and build challenges. External complex issues included improving blood sample delivery traffic flow, providing a covered shipping / receiving area and to create a signature design motif for the complex. Internal issues included examining the multi-story facility and its ten departments to improve spatial arrangement and employee circulation.
Haase Lake House
Jim and Helen Haase
Eagle Lake - Edwardsburg, Michigan
Maximizing the view to Eagle Lake and salvaging as many trees as possible was of highest priority to Jim and Helen. Approximately 60% of all major rooms and spaces throughout the house have spectacular views of the lake and its ever-changing seasons. An open floor plan between the Kitchen, Dining and Family Room make this home conducive for entertaining. An upper Sitting Room has the best vista in the house with a 4-foot round nautical window viewing the length of the lake. A 2-story tower opening onto a covered balcony / patio coupled with a soft curving stairway give signature to this “Craftsman Style” Lake House.
Point-O-Woods
